I started this blog for a class project. I am taking classes to renew my teaching certificate and this semester I took creative activities. I had to create a creative endeavor project and I chose sewing a memory quilt by hand. I have several blocks done and will be working on it for a while. It is made from old dresses that belonged to me. Molly wore some of them too. She is excited to see the finished project, as am I. I will keep posting pics of my progress. In the meantime, I am going to be sharing the stitching projects I am working on. I loved watching my mother and grandmother cross stitch, and have been doing it since my teen years. It is relaxing and a great way to make memories to pass down to Molly and Will. I love stitched Christmas ornaments. Patterns and fabric have come a long way since my mom taught me to stitch. I could get lost in cross stitch stores for hours.

This is my first. It is called Visions of Sugar Plums. I got the pattern from Just Cross Stitch magazine, the Christmas ornament special. The pattern is by Country Cottage Needleworks. I know I will enjoy stitching Christmas ornaments all year.
